Ever since the first time I seen you make these I've always wanted to try. Actually , I think I did try but really sucked at it. As i do at most sculptural stuff. So I'm really looking forward to learning the skills to do floral sculptures.

I haven't looked at it yet, as I'm too high on painkillers at the moment. Maybe tomorrow.

Just got my first one out of the kiln - and I'm really pleased - I'll take a pic later and post it. The instructions are fantastic - very clear and precise. I highly recommend this tutorial to anyone who likes florals.

I just noticed that my bead has cracked on the petals.
I used effetre rubino over effetre white for the petals, and the rubino has cracked. Does anyone have any idea why? Perhaps I should have given it even more of a heat bath before I put it in the kiln - I thought I did though.
I'll see if the one I made yesterday gets cracks too.

Hi Jane,

Yeah this may happen sometimes in the early days.. its is about how much you bathe the bead & its petal layers before putting it into the kiln...

keep at it!!!

Thankyou everyone for your support!!!

I just wanted to pipe in here and say what a great instructor Sally is. We had a lovely beady weekend in Sydney recently and Sally demoed her star gazer bead. Since I just had to try it myself, I came up with this. It will be going to my mother who loves lilies along with another bead that I made with Sally's butterfly murrini.
