Talking New glass storage -Yeah!!

I finally have my new glass rack. It is almost identical to Lenora's that she posted a while back. I found a guy on craigslist and e-mailed him pics and dimensions and voila, the best glass rack ever! Well, for me at least.
What do ya think?

Here it is empty...

And all filled up with glass. 88 squares which I can divide in half when I need to...

Super nice! I am in the process of re-organizing my storage now (bought too much at the Gathering...) and I wish I had something like that.

Cherine, that is really great! Can you post the dimensions you gave him? I work with a guy who does woodworking as a hobby-- I'd like to have him make one of these for me.

Thanks!

Thanks for all the nice comments everyone. Mine is @ 24" by 24" and the depth is 18". However I would recommend, if you are having one built to have the depth shorter if you will be using it for Moretti. If a rod gets pushed back in there it is kind of hard to fish it out. Each square is a little under 2" by 2" which is the perfect size to hold about 2 lbs. of glass.
For material, my guy used 1/2 in MDF and for the spacers I think he called it hardboard.
You can divide the squares in half for even more storage.
Here is a link to Lenora's rack(ha, get it, nevermind). Post 15 show's how she divided up the storage even more...

I have actually used those in the past. The cubbies in the shoe organizers are about 4 inches and this is less than 2 inches. So you can fit a lot more glass in a much smaller space.

Yes, I guess the shipping would be cost prohibitive. But it sure is cool!!!

Default Yay for you!

That is fantastic. I've been dreaming about having one of these for a long time. This guy could go into business making these. Is he interested in making more?

Default Wine rack

Oh, by the way, I went into Joann's this week and they had those wooden crates that they always carry with dividers in them for a wine rack. They are perfect for holding tubes for glass. I haven't tried just putting the glass in them without the tubes yet. You can use your 40% off coupon there too!
