Default What's the best way to photograph metallic glass?

I'm using lots of the silver glass and I can't seem to capture the metallic oil slick look and luster finishes very well.

Take this bead for instance. All of the greenish parts of this bead are metallic looking.

I find I get better looking metallic areas if I filter the light through several layers tracing paper or my white photobox thingy (I open into a "V" shape and set it on it's side).
This way the highlights aren't as strong and more subtlety in the midrange shows.
