Default Uroboros Cotton Candy pink frit

I just got a little bag of it from Howaco Glass, and I'm going to try layering it a few times over white to see if it gives me a pale pink bead. I must try that because I'm a little sad because they don't have this pretty pale pink opal color in rod form. Uroboros makes the Cotton Candy Grape, so why not the pink?? The purples in that tone as well as the pink are the ones that are expensive to make because of the gold used to manufacture them.

These colors:

Neon Orchid - transparent
Cotton Candy Grape - opal
Urobium Pink - transparent

Since they make the Urobium Pink in rod form, I don't know why they haven't bothered to pull Cotton Candy Pink into rods. Unless it's a whole lot more expensive to make than the Neon Orchid?? The pink is pretty pale too, so it's not like they are going to be using more gold than they probably do for the Urobium.

So many questions I must get answers for. Maybe I over-analyze everything, but then maybe I should give Uroboros a call. I can think of quite a few suggestions beside the pink. I want Adobe (an old discontinued sheet glass) in rod form!

My guess is that no one knows anything about this color? Oh well, I will just have make something with it and if it is interesting enough, I will post pictures.

I didn't even realize that there was a pink Cotton Candy; I have the Grape but don't use it much. The rod is soooo pretty.

I also wonder why they only make it in rod form.

I haven't heard of the Cotton Candy Pink either. If it is like the Cotton Candy Grape, I'd like to see it in rod form, too.

I'll ask Jamey at Howaco. Maybe, she knows.

Edit: It may not be the picture above that is the uroboros. http://www.slumpys.com/Fusible-Art-G...ss-Frit-Coarse

That's it!

I have a little baggie of the fine frit and it looks lighter because of the particle size. So that is why I am thinking that layering would give me more color. I have a lot of plans!

Go to the Uroboros site and check out all the colors they have in frit. OMG! If I could at least get my hands on some sheet glass in those amazing opals, I would cut that into strips for making beads.

Jamey already got back to me (dang, she's fast). She said they do not make it in rod form, but they now have their own rod making equipment.

Maybe, they need a from a few of us.

Yes, I will do that!
You're welcome. It looks like it is a lot cheaper at Howaco! $27.85 at Slumpys vs $9.49 at Howaco for 8oz. You can also buy smaller quantities at Howaco.
