any luck with Gold and/or Deep purple implosion

Has anyone had any luck with Gold or a nice Deep purple for implosions/deep ecasement with boro glass ?

Are you looking for metallic looking gold or "golden yellow"??

I haven't found a purple that I love yet. I'm still searching. My closest is a boro stick purple (Is there a Spring Purple??--yup ... just checked my order from last April ... that is what they were called). I can't remember the name tonight and sometimes I case it in a coat of dark cobalt.

I'm curious to see what other responses you get. I've been trying every "purple" available and none have succeeded in being my nirvana yet.

When I was a newbie I made a pendant or 2 with Purple Luster that actually imploded purple. Wish I knew how I did it. I've tried and tried...... Probably not enough oxygen looking back at my setup.

I am looking for Metallic gold.
I already use Golden yellows (cadmium) and many of those colors lighten when deep encased or imploded.

Could have been that specific batch of glass too.

I will have to get a stick of Purple Luster next time I am in town and try it a few different ways to see if I can get some love from it.

Have you tried Brown Glitter? I used it in a vortex marble and it was very sparkly. (Is that a word?)

I have, TAG's new Sparky is even better. it comes in two versions...light and dark. The dark has lots of shimmer and the light is quite sparkly (sparkly is the word I use )

You could gold fume the implosion and then use dark plum for the backing.

For gold sparkle, take some steel wool, mix it with clear, then pull it down into a thick rod. Coat that rod in asian amber and pull it down.

Or, a heavy fume of gold with any color (or clear) behind it will appear metallic.

I was able to get a dark purple, almost crimson purple by imploding Purple Lustre and then soaking it many times in the kiln.

For a dark deep purple use one of the blacks made from purple over white.
