I would think about a combination of tubing and rods joined together.
You can sandblast and oil paint to get vivid colors or use alcohol inks alone without the sandblasting.

These are sandblasted and oil painted:

Yes, use artists oil paint. I used a paper towel to wipe it on and blend it.
It gives a luminous effect and you can apply, dry, apply again to get the color deeper.
Takes a while to dry so give yourself some time. Alcohol Inks are another solution if you dont have a sand blaster.

Get your shape the way you want it before you add the color.. At that point it should not go back in the kiln.

no not reshape it, using the Duncan gold over glaze.
Make it, anneal, paint it this alcohol paint, paint with glaze and then it's got to go back to the kiln to set the gold glaze

May I suggest solid GA Rozay as it can be a nice transparent pink and is not as soft as previously made pinks.

I already answered this, but no the alcohol ink will not survive that heat. I don't know about the oil paint, but I doubt it would survive as well.
