Awww, thanks, I personally used this type of technique on many applications and raking is just needed in so many things. I hope you feel the instructions were adequate, since my studio is for now packed up, I can't take unfortunately pictures to accompany the text.

Just to add, I think the intense black was what gave the whispy edges on the feathers... especially with ivory it reacts and the black "runs" a bit. Not totally sure anymore on this, but that would be the first black color I would try.
