Yes that looks like purple rose. Sadly, Zimmerman glass went out of production several years ago. It's pretty hard to come by now.

I think there's a good chance that is Reichenbach R-88 Opal Violet.
http://www.glasscolor.com/products/d...cID=22&pID=459
If you go to the link, the page says "Purple Rose Special or Opal Violet."
Reichenbach now has a Purple Rose R-733. " Purple Rose, similar to Zimmermann's "Purple Rose Special"."
You can buy both in frit sizes up to 4.
Of course it's hard to tell from photos, so it might be Zimmermann. Here is a photo of Z-99.

I wonder how much it varies? My Z-99 looks just like Angie's picture.

Z-99 varies quite a bit. I've seen some that actually looks turquoise green but is definitely Z-99.
It's hard to tell from a photo. In this case, the photo looks just like my R-88, which happens to be a very nice color too.
In any case, there are options, including my personal favorite, Gaffer Purple Rose and Royal Purple, mixed together.

When did you get it? and from whom? That will go far to figuring out what it likely is.

Yes, it doesn't look consistent in size to me. Perhaps a homemade crush from rod? It does look like Z-99 to me, but some Lilac Rose was that dark too, especially with monitor variation.
Give it a melt, see what happens!

That could also be Gaffer G-199 Purple Rose as well. A lovely purple very much like Z-99 but still in production Their Royal Purple is also very lovely and similar as well. You can find both online in various places or you can order directly from Gaffer. Hope this helps
