Kiln Question
I found a used kiln for $200. The name of the kiln is Evenheat. There's no information about the kiln, just some pictures. I'll post a link to the ad and if you would, can look at it and tell me if it would be good for beads? I'm new to this and want to make sure I'm getting the correct things. I really appreciate any help I can get.
Thanks!
Tat

Thanks again!

It could possibly be used for beads, but I'm going to say no. That's a pottery kiln, and a fairly big one. You might be able to use it for batch annealing but there is no controller, and I don't see a temp gauge, so you'd need to buy add-ons to properly anneal.
And I wouldn't even want to lift that lid on and off if you garage as you go. It looks heavy and would be a blast furnace in your face every time you put a bead in it.
Honestly, save the $200 towards an annealer.

Ugh! That is depressing. I appreciate you saving me $200 and you're right about everything you say. Where do I get an annealer that I can afford? I'm still in practice mode with beads, so it's not something that I have to buy today. I just don't know where to go to get this stuff.
Thanks for looking for me. I appreciate it.

Lots of places to get one...many of the glass suppliers sell them and some pottery supply places too. The Glass Hive has a huge following here, they're members and have a payment plan, so that might make it easier.

I love their kilns but the controller is beyond my brain.
Keep an eye on the garage sale area here too. Once in awhile somebody sells one. Good luck!

Keep looking at craigslist. Eventually what you need will appear.
I bought mine from Clay King and love my paragon sc2.

For $200 you could afford to buy a digital controller to add to it, take it apart (3 sections) remove an element, make a bead door and go for it

I second the suggestion of craigslist. That's where I got my Paragon Caldera with bead door. Just gotta figure out the controller--heh.
