I assume this technique requires something like a flat lap machine but don't see it mentioned before buying the tutorial. Is that correct?

Yes, it does require a small lap or bevel machine like the Diamond Tech Bevel Max. You can find those on the internet for $300-$350, which your first 5-7 beads will pay for. I think sometimes we get stuck and don't move forward because there is a cost. New kiln, bigger torch, new tools, etc.... making a plan to include the new item / technique into what you do and having your art fund your hobby / profession is a good way to keep growing as an artist.

Can't wait to get my copy!

Anyone have pictures of their beads using this tutorial?

This one was the first one I did about a year ago and have been thinking of trying it again. I am hoping I can take a class from Lisa Atichison and learn more about this style of bead with flowers inside. Mary

Anyone in the Orlando/Kissimmee/st cloud area that wants use of a flat lap you can join the rock/lapidary group in Orlando or I would consider renting time in my studio in st cloud.

Any chance Rocio will teach a class on making these? When it gets cooler of course.
