It's brand new, it looks darker than amber rose though. I think frantz has it and Howaco will have it in the next few days.

I wanted to include a quick tut on mixing. I use my 1/8 mandrels and punty cut lengths of glass to them using whichever ratio I want. I then heat the glass on each mandrel into a gather and smoosh them together then slowly stretch and fold the glass until it's well incorporated. Actually it's not so much of a fold as I try to slide the glass over itself to avoid making too many bubbles. When I feel that it's mixed properly I pull the gather into a rod/stringer. That's it.
Hey, I just saw that this tutorial got 5 stars - Yipee - thanks!!!

I believe Devardi makes a close match to the original amber rose.

Bump.
I found this picture of a bead that calls for a base of Amber rose and double helix CE 352 which I have a few rods of. Been wondering what yo do with it. Now I know!

Hi, This looks very useful Does anyone have an idea what the Moretti colours/numbers translate to in Effetre please? I've looked for these on Martin Tuffnell's site but can't find them.
Thanks loads!

Amber Rose is no longer available. The Effetre numbers would be the same as the Moretti.
Edit: I find both the lavender and the straw yellow by searching the Tuffnell's site for "591XXX" where XXX is the color number. Lavender is called Rose on their site.

Ah - thank you both very much. I did find the Rose listed when I did a search on Tuffy's site, but of course didn't relate it to Lavender Blue - why would you??!
I'll go and try again.
Thanks again, Ann

Oh yummy!!!!
Thanks for everyone's work/fun with this....I have been making (playing at making) beads since 2000....
It just proves what I once said is TRUE...we don't even know what we don't know
And
The more we know, the less we don't know
I am soooo glad to 'know' this is even possible
