Phantom GTT torch
Does anyone know if both the inner and outer flame of the Phantom GTT torch are surface mix? I know the inner one is. Thanks
Nancy

Well, yeah... they are both triple mix, a special type of surface mix. Thats the whole point of a GTT.
A premix outer fire would be f-ed up. As far as I know, nobody makes a torch like that. A Carlisle CC is premix inner and surface outer, though. The other way around would be the type of torch Satan gives you as you arrive in Hell.

The following was my response in a different thread:
Carlisle and Knight torches are the only ones that that I know for sure have one fire premix (center fire) and the other surface mix (outer fire). I don't know about the center fire of Nortel's SSQ.
All GTT torches, including the Phantom, are surface mix. With the Triple Mix design, they are able to mimick certain qualities of premix torches (like being able to concentrate a large amount of heat into a very tight needle flame) without the drawbacks (like flashbacks, scumming, unwanted reduction, harsh treatment of colors, blowing out unexpectedly, etc.).
