Welcome back!
Can you at least tell us if they're hard or soft glass? I've pointed this tutorial out to a bunch of newbies this year. Thanks for writing it. I'm SO glad you're back. Angelique

One of my goals this year after I get going full speed is to post a couple of these every week with the exact color combo that i used. Have fun and keep at it!

ohhhh. that makes a lot of sense. I often do 5 per side, cause end on they look pretty as well. think 8 might make a honking big bead, but I'm always willing to give these things a go!
those beads and colours are stunning, need to make more of these! will be pulling out my boro again soon too.

Sangell,
That depends, who`s beads are you talking about? If your talking about Lara`s above? Those I believe are her very first ones and damn good if you ask me! Consistancy in size and wave will come with practice. She is using soft glass which is much more difficult to control with this technique.

It's nice to see you back! I remember this thread and did try it, and even with my complete lack of skill they turned out pretty well. Of course, due to my complete lack of skill I used a twistie with EDP and the exposed part devitrified all over the place.
I'm heading out of the torch today and will try this again, without the devitting glass this time!

I tried this with some boro shorts I had, and it turned out great! I'll try to get a pic and post it later. Thanks again for posting this tutorial.

HELP.... What am I doing wrong
When I first tried this a couple of months ago, I must have a good luck glass ferry on my shoulder. Now that I have my own set up and a few hudred beads and several classes under my belt. I can make them for s - - -.
I snapped a couple of shots hoping someone could help.
HELPPPP...... and FYI I only work in Boro

Sangell,
Looks like you need to either make your disk thinner, or make the clear dots much bigger, or both! a little trial and error may indicate which one or both!

Merilee,
Do you have a post # for the purple your talking about? Most of my purple comes from NS - DAP or Momka`s purple thunder. I have also had some great success with GA`s Passion extreme.

Yes, it was #207 bottom right. The purples are so nice and it has some blues as well.
I have those glasses I should fool around with some combos.
Thanks

That particular set was made from a twistie of TAG purple sabel, mystery adventurine, and either blue moon or havana moon light.
2, 3 inch pieces of Purple sable
1, 3 inch piece of mystery adventurine
1, 3 inch piece of blue moon
Attach the pieces to a small maria with the purple sable opposite each other and then attach like a 10mm rod on the other end. Heat and twist from one end making a 5 or 6 mm twistie

I made 3 of these in 104 glass last night. What Fun!!! The first one I broke my bead release but managed to get it mostly melted down and while wonky it worked. The second one I melted to fast and while you can see waves, it's not pretty...The third one I made with a petrol green and dark yellow twistie and it looks pretty good. Thanks so much for sharing this. I can see that I'll be making more of these

Here are 3 out of my 4 first attempts at this. 2 in 90 and 1 in 104. Thanks so much for posting this, I love the wavy bead! Sorry about the bad pics, still trying to learn how to photograph beads.
