Default Hot Flash Frit -- Show Yours

So I was gifted some of Angela Kane's frit blends and what a blast I'm having.

This is Hippie Chick on bases of clear, TAG Wisteria and GA BibBobBlue ... also imploded which my daughter is in love with.

Invinctus on the same bases as the above blends.

Laura, thanks for posting some pics! Isn't Hippie Chick fun? It's a pretty versatile blend and definitely gets bonus points for playing well with others!

Invictus, which also plays well with others, always seems to be a more serious blend. Where Hippie Chick is tye-dye and daisies in your hair, Invictus wears serious shoes and works 9-5. But, if you put Invictus on another striking color, stand back and watch the fun begin!

Working on two more blends this week. I'll tease you with their names - Ebb Tide and Midnight Hour. They should show up in my shop this week!

Ooo. Can't wait for new blends.

Yup ... think I'll hold off until later in the week but definitely want more Hippie Chick. Haven't found my good ju ju with Invictus yet.

Just got home from Momka Frit play. OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!

I'm in love with Antique Beauty and Lustrious Blue whooo hooo. I'm sooo doombed (financially). Off to finish my order with ABR.

Here's some pics of the newest blend called Midnight Hour. It's a deep lush blend, dark blues and purples with just a hint of sparkle (which is almost impossible to capture in a photo!).

Okay listen, don't take this personally but if you keep coming up with gorgeous new frit blends, I'm gonna have to put you on my ignore list Angela so I won't be tempted! My poor bank account... bwahahahaha!!! Looooove Midnight Hour! What was the base?

LOL! Susan, this blend is my absolute favorite (no, wait, I say that about all of 'em, don't I?).
The beads in the back were on a base of GA Purple Luster, the two in the front were on clear. I also made some on a base of Momka Blue reflection (I think that was it) and there was virtually no difference between the clear and those except maybe a wee bit of a greenish tint on the Momka.

Well crud. I've had a cold all weekend, finally feeling up to torching again. Got five beads done and my flame is giving me fits. I think my propane regulator is going bad. The propane keeps going down, I turn it up, it goes back down. I'm not low on propane, hoping it's the regulator. I've checked for leaks, can't think of what else it could be. I have a new one coming, out of commission til it gets here in a few days.

I got three beads done with Hippie Chick - on NS silver aqua and Momka's Violet Hue and then one with mint dipped in HC and applied. I got two done with Invictus - one on NS silver aqua and one on momka's cloud. I'll post pics soon, and hopefully get more testing done soon too. I need to revisit the Momka frit testing too - if only the stars would align and my propane would cooperate!

Frit of the month club! LOL!

Laura, there's another one in the works that might not come out until next week. Still tweaking it a bit to get the ratios the way I want them. It will be a blend of both opaque and striking glasses and will be in the teal/turquoise color family. Think sea and ocean colors.

Susan, pisser about the propane! Hate it when those kind of things keep me from having fun with new glass! I'm anxious to see the Hippie Chick on Violet Hue and the Invictus on Cloud and the...okay, I'm anxious to see all of them!

I have a few to show:

This is Hippie Chick on NS Silver Aqua, Momka Violet Hue, and AP with white core. All are encased with Simax.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is Invictus on Cloud and NS Silver Aqua.

Yummmm ... Susan ... I like all the Hippie Chick and especially like the Invictus on cloud.

I just received my Hippie Chick (full size) and Midnight Hour today.

Can't wait to try them out ... probably Thursday.

I did one bead with the Midnight Hour so far, but forgot to photograph it. I used a clear base + Turquesa, rolled in MH and then encased. It was pretty, but the Turquesa was too dark for a base I think. Needs something different to showcase the gorgeous frit colors. Any suggestions?

Beautiful beads Susan! Hippie Chick is so user-friendly and gives consistently great results. Don't tell anyone I mentioned it but try Midnight Hour on Irrid or one of the reactive blues like Blue Amber Purple or one of the Momka blues.

Laura, can't wait to see the beauties you come up with! Pictures!!!

Untamedrose, yours will be on its way tomorrow! Thank you!

I played last night with a new blend but I wasn't thrilled with the results when I opened the kiln today. They were nice but not stellar. Back to the drawing board for that blend. Darn, guess I'll have to torch tomorrow...

Default Elfin Magic ... who are you??

So Angela sent me a sampe frit with my last order. Unlabeled and I am soooo in love. Here are three shots of bead pairs I made yesterday with this new frit I call Elfin Magic and a touch of TAG Champagne Sparky #1 sized frit.

first is on TAG Slyme, then on someone's Mint (not sure if NS or GA but suspect GA) and last but not least Momka's Greener Trails.

Angela ... I need to know what it is 'cause I want more!!!

Those are really pretty Laura! I got a mystery sample in my last package too - what did yours look like? I think mine was kinda green but I'd have to go look again. Love the colors you got!

Those are the test batches of the soon-to-be released blend called "Ebb Tide." Greens, teal and little bits of striking colors. Susan, I think you got the same sample in your package. Laura, I love the addition of the Champagne Sparky! I'm a sucker for anything that sparkles!

Thanks ... I'm really happy with how they came out. The sample is a small grind and greens and blues but I got some wonderful pops of color that just "sleighed me". I was thinking it was Celtic Spring so I used in on green bases but then the color popped and I was like ....whoaaaa!!

Here's a different one. I quick test of Midnight Hour from the other day on Lt Blue DAP.

This is a really awesome chameleon blend.

Above I put it over greens and got a really cool effect. I have a couple more that are over Lt Blue AP and it is TOTALLY different on that. Need to take pix and post!!

Can't wait to get more ... I'm just about out.

Really pretty!!!! Haven't been able to play, company in town and now a sick child. It's been 110+ outside, so it would be mighty toasty out there anyhoo... Thanks for the glassy porn - it was well timed!

Thanks. Ebb Tide is such a neat blend. I never really know what I will get. I love it on the green bases (above when I didn't know what it was) but it's very nice on the LBAP.

Can't wait to restock my supply so I can play with more bases!!

Ohhhh! Laura, those are beautiful! It is a bit of a chameleon and will yield different results on different bases, and with little variations on the gas/oxy ratio. You've really done right by it!

Eee gad ... now I want to go back and hook the tank up and play some more.

I've been doing my sample beads on my m-15 and bobcat figuring it would be a good "all around representation".

But me and boro are always happier on the tank!!! (I'm not the most patient person!!)

Default Ebb Tide --- honest

New bead porn!!

So I was playing with my shipment of Ebb Tide ... on Slyme and Lt. Blue AP to compare it to earlier pix of the mystery sample that I was calling Elvin Magic and we thought "might" be Ebb Tide.

It wasn't:

But Angela was kind enough to mix me up my own special batch of the sample frit. Whoot.

Thanks so much Angela ... can't wait to play more!!
