Glasseyeyes, the first tutorial shows you how to make a basic bead with dimpled holes. If you can tell me what you are getting instead, I might be able to help. If you start with the smallest footprint you can get on the mandrel, the greater chance you have of getting dimples. The glass has to be able to bulge outward, so if your footprint is too wide, then you can't get dimples unless you wind on a lot of glass. Does that help any?

And thanks, Lara!

The workbook is finished. I had it up on Lulu with a slight markup above cost, but I decided to make it free (or at cost from Lulu). You can now find the whole PDF here:

http://www.webjam.com/beginning_glass_beadmaking

If you already bought the book on Lulu before I reduced the price, please contact me.

Sheila, you rock! Thank you so much for doing this as I was having dreadful trouble trying to make my own lattice beads.

I look forward to seeing your other tuts when you're ready - I would love to see a disk bead, a simple implosion or a guide on twisties. I always seem to make my stringers too short (clearly a heat/torch distance issue I'm doing wrong).

I am new glass "artist" (I use the term very loosely at this point!!!) and really appreciate your booklet. I am past the "100 spacers" stage and am now ready to try some of your beautiful beads. It really helps to have these online when there are NO classes without a two hour drive. Thank you very much!

Wow Sheila! Thanks so much for your generosity. The torch sheets are a great idea.

Cheers
