Default McAllen TX October 6th-7th 2018

Don't miss this opportunity! Beadmaking classes in deep South Texas are hard to find. I only teach once in the fall in McAllen . Class sizes are limited. This is a beautiful studio with great ventilation. They also offer fusing and other art classes. Check them out here

Two classes at McAllen Stained Glass

October 6th 2018: Beginning Beadmaking

Glass Beadmaking is an ancient art form. This workshop will explore
the art of making glass beads. Safety, studio set-up and beginning
bead making techniques will be covered. Students will each have a
workstation with a Hot Head Torch, tools and soft glass supplied.
Each student will make and take home several beads including
donut beads, cylinder beads, textured beads and round bead.
Decorative techniques including dots,
stringer and frit will also be introduced.

October 7th 2018: Winged Things

This class is for students who have completed a beadmaking one class. Now that you have the basics of beadmaking its time to have some fun. You will be introduced to scultpting with glass & the flame. Students will add dots to create different body shapes, eyes, wings, beaks, stingers and much more. We will concentrate on birds & bees using colorful frit, dot patterns & our imagination.

All the skills learned can be used to create realistic or whimsical creatures of all types.

All skill levels welcome. If you just made your 1st bead on Saturday you'll be amazed how easy it is to turn a few dots into an animal. More advanced student will enjoy the extra challenges built into each lesson just for them.
