Hi everyone, Sherry's class is fast approaching! We have changed the course to include some exhilarating new techniques. In the two day work shop you can expect:
Day one:
Shipwrecks and Other Watery Subjects!
Shipwreck beads are a great way to bring all of the techniques that you've learned together, in these beads, creativity reigns! You'll learn how to create a harmonious seascape without really trying; by layering colors and building a design from the ocean floor up. We'll discuss how to use scale in your designs, and how to shape your bead to use your ideas to the greatest advantage.
I'll also demo some cool Silver canes, and show you how to create and use some tiny components.
Some Examples of Shipwreck Beads:
Day two:
The Wonders and Wiles of Webs and Wire!
In this class we'll be doing some advanced work with both copper and silver wire. Using both off and on-mandrel techniques, we'll be exploring some methods of enclosing wire forms and miniature wire 'sculptures' in glass beads. I'll discuss in detail the behaviors of different metals, and we'll see how best to showcase these elements within a clear glass "window". (This class is intended for intermediate and advanced students.)
Some Examples of Beads using These Techniques
We would be happy to help anyone living out of the area (Fresno, Ca.) with hotel accommodations, We've been able to secure special rates from hotels in the past for those traveling to attend our workshops.
