Default Where do I buy Foil and wire mesh

I am wondering where I can get gold and silver foil and silver mesh wire. Then a follow up, how do I use them. These would both be new techniques for me.

Thanks

Hillary

You'll also need a respirator if you're going to use metals as the fumes are toxic. I believe there are discussions on LE about that. Here's one

PS also - working w/silver is extremely addictive

To buy from vendors here try:
Val Cox: www.valcoxfrit.com
Glass Diversions: www.glassdiversions.com
Howaco: www.howacoglass.com

Just a few, there are others. All these ship fast and have excellent customer service..

If your ventilation is adequate for working at all, you shouldnt need a respirator. If you are not sure its adequate, stop working and get that squared away first.

Rio Grande has the silver mesh. I get my foil from Frantz Art Glass. I don't use a respirator but I have a super good ventilation. Do a search here and you will find lots of info on using foil and wire.

That is a matter of debate.

Ventilation adequate for lampworking may not be adequate for fuming w/metals.
