Favorite learning exercises?
Hi everyone!
I think it was a month ago I got my starter hot head kit from Wale apparatus, and about two weeks ago I got my mini cc set up. I'm loving this new art form and as usual, I want to learn, learn, learn as much as I can about it.
I've gotten to the point now where I've amassed a big enough variety of glass, frit, and silver to really start experimenting.
I have a fair amount of Devardi, Effetre, and CIM, as well as the DH sampler pack and a decent selection of frit samples including some raku.
So, does anyone have some suggestions for some fun glass combos for me to learn working with silvered glass, reduction and striking glasses? Also, any tutorials you'd recommend?
I love the beads with what look like opal bumps, I know that must be some kind of silvered glass effect but I'd love if there was a tutorial out there. Also, I've been working on finding a glass combo to mimic the look of labradorite, my favorite gemstone.
I've been having a blast just experimenting but I'd also love to see what others have found useful.
Also, if you'd like to share examples of your own beads using these techniques I'd love to see. It's fascinating what one can do!
Thanks!
Georgia
