Sarah Hornik's tut Think Pink has good examples of that color combo (or turquoise instead of copper green)
This is what I made after buying it

Could you be thinking of Kimberly's Twistie Recipe? Check it: http://www.lampworketc.com/forums/sh...hlight=twistie

It's awesome! Not Rubino, but EDP...similar.

I made that pic. I'm glad you all are still finding it useful! I put it together for my sister, who was a newbie at the time, to give her some ideas/inspiration. The thumnail pictures are of beads I made 6-7 years ago.

Candy,
I ran across that awhile back and wasn't sure where it came from. What an awesome reference/inspiration. Thank you so much for sharing it.

Candy,

They're really stunning, and a compelling reason for the imprecise to practice dots. Do you mind my asking about sequence? Do you melt in between layers? Center first then shoulders?

Generally speaking, I melt the bottom layer of dots before adding any dots on top or along the shoulders. However, when the glass is reactive, it depends. For example, the first bead in the 2nd row. The dots need to be melted in a certain order for them to take on that design. The opal yellow dots need to be melted down first and then the pink dots on top of that. Only when you have that row done do you add the purple dots along the sides. The purple dots will then move the opal yellow/pink dots into that 6-sided shape. When that's all finished, then you can add the copper blue finishing dots.

Opaque purple is a mover type of glass, so any glass that's next to it or under it will move right along with it. Sometimes the effect is great and other times not.

Hi Candy,

Found this thread with the photos that are gorgeous. My one question is in most you mention that you used "purple" .... can you tell me WHICH purple you used? There are soooo many and they all have different tints (mostly gray) to them it would be helpful to know whis is being used in the pics.

Thanks in advance,

Angie

These are EDP (with rubino, CG and dark pink on OY)

These have New Violet

A dot of EDP under the dot of rubino will keep the rubino pink, instead of the bittersweet orange that rubino turns on top of OY. Gosh, it's been years since I made those beads. Guess what I want to go do? lol

WOW .... those are gorgeous! So when someone (in regards to CG) says "Purple" they are most likely talking EDP?

Whatever you do, don't put that combination of those three on Effetre light sky blue. Crack City. All over the beads, where the colors join. I am so glad I caught that before I put them up for sale.
