Default Black photo tent

Does anyone use a black photo tent for photographing their beads? I'm thinking of buying one instead of the usual white one -- getting a good deal -- but would like to know if it's a good route to go.
Thanks.

I used I two foot long one with black sides and a solid top for a couple years. It worked great and I would like to set one up again, but it takes much more space to work right. This type of setup produces great drop shadow effects. I have a very old page that shows my old setup at http://www.shiningmoon.com/misc/photosetup.html

This is the effect it produces naturally as the light drops off further back in the box.

Cheers,

as far as i'm told, thats the best set up for reflective and translucent ( clear) subjects/products.

why.....the white tents tend to wash out reflective material and make clear glass " lack defination"

Hi guys, I ordered mine in early March, still do not have it. I emailed the guy, he said it takes a while for it to come from Canada (I live in Michigan!). Anyone else having problems getting one?

I ordered one on ebay March 9th and it arrived sometime last week. Think the listing said Richmond, BC. So far I've only taken photos of felt pieces, need to try the beads.
