my color sense is off today
I have someone who wants a bunch of yellow implosions with different colors for the backgrounds.....and I am stumped. I am using the Momka sunflower and yellow pearl, but I have only one that I am really happy with and I used a sparkle short from smiley to back it. Anybody have any ideas for good colors to back yellow with? I am not a big fan of yellow, so I don't work with it much. I think I am a little burned out from being in production/show mode for so long.
On a postive note I have to say that the Momka Yellow Pearl works really nicely in the flame. No bubbling at all. I think it is a new color, and it is really worth trying out.

Depends on what you are going for.
Orange or red is a nice backing color for warmth.
You can do greens and blues to back it, and get a more soothing feeling.
Backing with purples will give you Lakers colors (GO TEAM!)
Backing with black will make it look like a bumblebee (which is actually REALLY
cool!)
Personally, I'd go for something like silver seaweed or a heavy silvered blue color. That's a neat look and
it doesn't distract from the colors in front.

if the back didn't have to be a solid color VB Rainbow Sand Frit would be fun. then back with white to make the colors pop.
Do they want muted warm looks or bright playful? If the second I would back with primary colors. I embedded an implosion of yellow in a drop pendent of Gypsy Queen that was really playful. Customer loved it..too bright for my taste. GA has some orange tie-dye that would look good backing also.

Thanks much! That helped a lot! I am off to the torch again.
By the way, The new Blue Flambe from Momka is great. You can get it to strike out almost like a mix of NS Turquesa and NS Amber Purple. Just make sure to burn the haze off before you encase, do a very quick flamestrike, and pop it into your kiln.
