Who has really long tongs with no serrations?
I'm in a pendant making frenzy, but the tongs (kinda like kitchen tongs) I use have the serrated marks and are marring my pendants. I need something l-o-n-g (at least 12") that can hold a decent sized boro pendant, without leaving nasty marks. I did find one vendor, but for two tweezers totaling $28 they wanted an additional $20 for shipping!!! Any ideas on who might have something like this? Do I want hot fingers? I've never used them, but maybe they would work?
Thank you!!!
Susan

My husband just ground down a pair of serrated ones for me on the grinder.....maybe you could do that.
Good luck.

Hi Susan, would these work for you? Look down the page to the 12" curved set.
http://www.arrowsprings.com/html/holding_tools.html
I have a set and use them occasionally. Most of the time I just use my 9" looped hemostats. I tend to drop things less with the looped hemostats.

Well, when I started to type how I needed them to be at least 12", I had to laugh at how that might sound.

Hi, Kathy!! Actually, I started to order two things off of that page to begin with, totaling $27 or $28 and when I went to check out (it just did it again, I checked), the shipping was $20. I don't know, that just seems nuts to me. I chose the four pack of tweezers and then one more little tweezer looking thing. They aren't heavy, so why the pricey shipping?
I'm using looped hemostats myself, but with serrations. I think mine might be 9" too, but I'd like to get something longer - that kiln is HOT I guess if I could find long ones w/o serrations, it would be perfect!

I carry 14" hemostats for $10.00, if that would help. They're not thongs, though (ROFL)

Susan, I think if you look at the bottom of the Arrow Springs order page, it says the following:
Why Is There A $20 to $50 Shipping Deposit?
Shipping charges are based on weight, package size, and even shape. Our current shipping system does not allow us to determine all these conditions prior to packing, so what we have done is to request a flat "deposit" for shipping. Only the actual cost will be charged at the time of shipment. We do not add any markup or handling charges.

Susan, I got the four-tweezer pack from Arrow Springs. They work great for various tasks!
You can always add in your comment for AS to confirm shipping cost before processing your order.
