Lauscha Striking Coral Pink
I bought some Lauscha Striking Coral Pink recently. I also recently fired up my Hothead which hasn't been done in over 4 years. I made a bead with this color and it turned to mud on the outside. If I look down the mandrel at the inside of the bead, it looks like a very intense rubino. Lots of gold color. I'm assuming that it devitrified.
Has anyone else purchased this glass and had any good results with it?

I have some but I haven't ever had that happen to it and I am on a HH.
Sounds like you might have worked it too hot?
I don't have any pics of it, sorry.
I have all 3. The LT Coral Striker, Coral/Pink and the Cran Orange Red Berry one too.
The one you have seems to be a bit darker w/ more pink in it than the Lt Striker.

That color needs a lot of oxygen and is a beautiful color when worked right..

Try working farther out in the flame.

Aleta,
I believe there is just one dealer selling that color and that she has a photo on her page of the rod and a finished bead.

Weird. I don't have any of that color....but I've never had any problem with any of the lauscha pinks (or any other Lauscha) & my hothead--one of the best things about lauscha is that I've never been able to fry it out on the hothead--maybe it's just too close to the torch head/torch is turned up too high? That's generally the only "user error" I've found with mine--if I turn it down enough, don't "rush" my beads, I've had nothing but good luck with lausha & my hothead.
(and now I'm really curious about those colors--they sound yummy)

I just got some Cran-Orange and some transparent Fuschia in but they are not on the website yet. I need to melt them first to see what they really do before I go selling them.
Luna I think you are right and she was sooting it up. But I don't know much about HH's.

Aleta,
When you use the HH don't have the flame really high. Work the bead up in the top of the flame like you would Rubino. Once or twice is all it takes to strike the colors.
The lighter color on the left is the "coral pink" Kind of an orange look to it I guess....and the one on the right is the Cranberry Orange. Very dark pretty cranberry color. Holds true to it's name

Here is the link from where I got it.
Look down the page....its the only place I have ever seen it sold. This shows the 3 different shades/colors. Good thing Paula will carry it now!!
http://www.jodelglass.com/shopsite_s...ml/page85.html
ETA: I'll clarify: I am NOT telling anyone to buy from that link, just that that is where I got mine from and showing the differences in the colors..

Here is a pic of a pansy I made using EverAfter's pansy tut with the Lt Coral Striker over CIM Peace.

Good advice! I'll try that next time.

More good advice. Thank you. I think I ended up with the darker coral striker. My bead does resemble the one on the right a bit. It is definitely a deep color when struck. Almost looks like a cross between medium and dark Effetre Amber. Nothing pink about it.

That is a gorgeous bead! The color is close to mine, but mine is darker. Your Lt Coral in the pansy kind of remindes me of bittersweet.

Oh man, I just melted the L4330 Coral Pink and its such a pretty color!
I had only made a spacer or two months and months ago when I got it.
It strikes really easily but it will go livery on ya if you work it too hot, but not
as easily as Rubino does - for me anyway. I just kept it up in the flame and worked
a tad cooler and it did fine.
Also, it doesn't strike in every place but one spot like Rubino does for me too.
Pics later on when it cools off.
Here it is
Its a shade darker but it was hard to photograph and try and keep the true color. There is a tinge of coral but it looks pink up against the Lt Coral Striker.

Dona - That is GORGEOUS! Then so is the other one. In this one I can see the gold pink so vividly. Can't wait to see it cooled down. I don't have the L4330. Must get some of that!

My sympathies on your loss Paula (but....since I don't get another paycheck until the 13th, I'm kind of ok with the delay in your posting new colors ....it means you might not sell out before I can snag a little of each one )
I keep wishing someone reliable who could *drive* to the place who shall not be named would just go buy out the lauscha stock & put it up for sale....especially since it's now closing down/half price, whatever....I'd pay the "regular" price, or a price somewhere between the "half price" & "full price" for some of those colors (properly listed ) from someone reliable. Be a great way to make a little spare cash I'd think (even for just a regular trusted forum member/not another business)
I've been eyeing what appears to be baby pink tricolor lauscha cane forever--if it's not a bad photo of peach, omg, sigh....if it's just peach, well, then .

Didn't the unnamed glass person you speak of sell the business to someone else? I thought someone was taking it over?? She had some wonderful exclusive colors on the site, it's too bad if it ends up ending as is. Who knows, maybe someone could pick up where she left off and it could thrive again.
The tri pink color does look pink by the angle but I have no idea. Didn't know they made a pink. Maybe it was an "odd lot?"

Oh Boy Luna, I woke up with a migraine probably from my really bad ventilation and missed my Uncle's service which is going on right now but is not nearby! Ouch!
I did try to buy that dealer's stock. Offered to go down there and pay cash for it But I wanted to see what I was buying and not do it through the mail. First she said ok then she changed her mind. So I tried to buy more of the favorites but the sale is no longer on...I thought she was out of the pink tri colors...Paula
