Nikon D90
Looks like I saved more than I needed for the tax man so I am going to invest in a new camera.
I am looking for a great price on a Nikon D90 with the 18-200mm F/3.5-5.6G VR Lens.
Best price I have found so far is just under $1600.
Anybody seen a better price or have the sweet deal with their local camera shop?

I've been looking for one as well. Costco had one for just over $1100 but it's out of stock now. They do have a package available for $1750 until the 18th, it includes a 2g memory card and another lens, a 70-300mm. Check online and if you order online I don't think you need to be a member and they have concierge service to help. I saw one at Best Buy online for $1235.

I saw those. I am looking for a package deal with the 18-200mm lens. It costs almost as much as the body alone. Its probably the best all around lens on the market.
I found a package for just under $1600 but it looks like it is a gray market deal and I don't want to get involved with that.

B and H would be the only online source I'd buy from...they had the D90 with that lens listed for $1580...however, they're currently out of stock. Most places I've checked have been out of stock, including local camera stores here...good luck, it's a great camera!

You won't be disappointed in this camera. I used that lens to take this picture.

Have you checked Amazon? That is where i got mine. The one I got has the 18 to 105 lens since I already had a couple of other lenses that fit.

I bought mine a few months ago - just before the price hikes. Its a brilliant piece of kit - and more so as you get used to the many settings that are possible.
Depending on the type of shooting you want to do though - the cheaper SD cards might not be the best option - bead shots etc are more then fine - but if you whack it into motor drive & high framerate (Sports or other action shots) you could find the buffer filling quicker then anticipated and then your left waiting for the write cycle to finish. The D90 can make good use of cards with 20-30 MBs write speeds. But if you dont need to take photographs at machinegun rate of speed the slower cards do save dollars.
How are you finding yours Squid?

I got mine from Amazon - you just have to go through a bunch of listings to find the best ones.
