Blowing Rod
Does anyone know the best/easiest way to use glass blowing rod to turn it into cane please..
Im thinking along the lines of big chunks.. well not too big, heated on a mandrel and then pulled.. but what do I know
Any and all suggestions gratefully received

That's pretty much the only way to do it. Use a bigger mandrel. Something like 3/8" if you have it.

1. Preheat chunks in your kiln.
2. Melt the end of a rod of large diameter (10-12mm) clear and use it to pick up the chunk from the kiln.
3. Punty up the other side with another rod of clear.
4. Heat and pull.
