Smile Sample size now available at Dragonflyglassworx.com

Your requests have prompted us to offer a sample size of all frit blends! Each sample contains enough frit to make 3-4 beads, and costs $1.95. Enjoy!

Be Well,

Julia

Hi Julia

I am not seeing a sample size on some of the colors... Serenity and Zen Garden for example. Does this mean they're sold out, or were they just missed in the update process?

I'll hold off finishing my order until you check in on that. And thanks so much for doing the samples!

Lisa

Hi Julia!

Thanks for making the sample sizes available. I have about 15 of them in my cart.

When I go to estimate shipping it says it will be $30.50. So, I think something needs to get fixed. I really don't want to check out until I know that shipping is going to be reasonable.

You're shipping is probably calculated by number of items rather than by weight.

Thanks!

I'm really curious about WHO is dragonfly glassworks?
(I'm sure I'm not the only one...)
The blends look delicious, don't get me wrong--but...you've got pretty much no posts under the business name, and I can't find anything on the site that links you to *who* you are as someone "already here" under another name. Do "we" already know "you" & I've just missed the post somewhere? (it's entirely possible--I've been really busy @ work lately)
Your frit blends look *really* familiar (some of them) & I'm VERY interested in a few of the blends--they look quite similar to blends no longer available...but...I'd really like to know a bit more...pretty websites don't always mean perfect service when it's a brand new company.
Can you tell me a bit about yourself & the "small group of glass artist professionals" (ie: WHO you are) before I zap cash off into cyberspace?
Thanks!
~luna

Default Samples

Lisa,

Thanks so much for letting me know that there was a problem with the sample option showing up. I've gone through all the colors and fixed them... (I hope) Please let me know if you see any others. I do have stock in all of them right now so you should be okay.

And - Mary Beth, the shipping issue should be fixed too. I tried buying 40 of them and I got the standard Priority Mail shipping $4.95 so that should be fixed too....

Julia

Luna,

Thanks for asking about me and what Dragonfly Glassworx is all about. I've been working in glass for over 10 years - since before college. I have accumulated quite a few friends who work with glass too - all the way from North Carolina to New Mexico - both places I've lived for a time and currently living in Waltham, MA. I sort of stumbled into the frit world by way of a boro glass friend who showed me what can be done with boro frit - and I was hooked. I have been experimenting with furnace glass and boro frit for some time and finally decided to open a store. I have always been an artist so I appreciate the feedback on the site.

I'm new to the whole forum world... just joined a few weeks ago. And yes, it is a new store. I know how it is when you order online and you want it right away. That's my goal too - to ship as soon as possible.

I hope you'll try the blends. I'm also considering offering boro blends as well - in the future. Do you or anyone else have an interest in boro as well? If you decide to try some blends, I'd love to hear your feedback.

Be well,
Julia

Julia, I think we can't help but notice the design of the website, the blends, the labels, the photographic style and the names all mirror Spiral Glass Design so closely. Which were all very beautiful of course. Are you saying there is no association? If there is, you should be proud of that and not try to hide it. If not, than it's sure coincidental. Val

Hi Val (and all at LE),

I have to say that Spiral Glass Design had a very classy presentation which I admired greatly; however as much as I would LOVE to take credit for the original concept and creativity, I cannot. I have worked very hard to present my business in the most beautiful way I can, and I am very flattered by the similarities you see. Despite the compliments, I would like to be recognized as my own business. I am not Spiral Glass Design, I never was. It's just me But THANK YOU!

Julia

Hi and Welcome. I was wondering as Val and others if the recipes are yours or Susans? Did you purchase her recipes? Is Susan one of your partners?

I will just ask the questions outright and hope you do not mind.

Do we get names? You seem to be answering questions as best as you can but being very vague at the same time. Sorry...just my impression.

Names of the partners also would be helpful.

Lorraine

Hello to all,

Thank you again, for your continued interest. With sincere all due respect, this response will be my last regarding the integrity of a business I have spent countless hours working on. My fellow partners are long time friends of mine, that have committed to help me get the online store up, running, and functioning like a well oiled machine. I did not buy any recipes. I walked myself out to the studio night after night and started mixing, and continue to be the principal “chef”. I am very proud of my work, and hope that you can appreciate it too.

Thank you,

Julia

Hi Julia,
I just want to say, I applaud you for starting a business. I know how hard it is to do. I don't quite understand why all the questions. Weather or not you bought the business from someone is irrelevant. We should all be celebrating the fact that one of ours in our community has started a business. Your web design is awesome and you can tell you worked hard on your design packaging.

So, congratulations. I hope you do very well. Lets all support another one of our in business.

The questions stem from the fact that many MANY people here on LE were left high and dry when SDG took their money for frit purchases and then never sent the frit.

Perfectly understandable.

And let me say Julia's CS is OUTSTANDING! I've already gone back for a second helping I ordered a few small sizes and one of them just ROCKED my world so went back and got the big jar AND a couple of samples to try out.

Eagerly awaiting my first order... which may already be in my mailbox as I type this! I ordered several more colors than I would have if not for the sample size, and I'm sure I'll be back for full jars on some of them.

Keep cooking up new blends, Julia! (I haven't gone to the boro-side, so 104-compatible is my interest, btw.)

Thanks!

ETA PS: My frit came!!! It's beautiful! And the wrapping / presentation was lovely too! Can't wait until Friday PM to melt it!!! Thanks Julia!
