Default Can you repair a pendant?

I guess a better question would be can I repair a pendant. I made a few pendants the other day and the bails broke off of two when I dropped them on tile. All I really need to do wold be re heat the spot where the bail would attach and add a new bail. Should I warm the pendant up in the kiln first? Or can I introduce it right into the flame?

To be on the safe side...pop those pendents in the kiln when you turn it on to get them up to temp...then punty them up..and melt on a new bail. Simple as that.

I HAVE reheated them directly in the flame with success...but you have a good chance of ruining the entire piece if it blows on you.

My theory, you have to turn you kiln on anyway to anneal your pieces...why not be safe and toss them in there.

Cheers.

What SleepyCreek said! Boro is really tolerant of re-working, but play it safe and bring it up to temperature a bit slower by putting it in the kiln. I've lost two killer marbles recently to shock late in the game (melting in the twisted surface decoration), when I should have been garaging them in between phases in case they had gotten too cold (they had) - it was a sad reminder that yes, boro can shock.
