What to do with Amber Rose!!
I was gifted a few rods of the hard to come by "Amber Rose" (thanks to my bead buddy Lori!)
I am scared to waste a bit of it on sample or trial beads.
Any recommendations on what works (or doesn't)?
Thanks
Jolene

My favorite thing to do with it is layer it over silver foil. Work it cool so that the foil doesn't burn off, and you get the most incredible warm peachy-honey color.

Noooooooooo It makes the most beautiful beads and thusly deserves to be a bead, not a dusty rod hidden in the stash.
Come on, Lisi, let's see you make a beautiful bead with it, pretty please!!!???
Best,
Lea

I will give em all a try
Thanks for all the ideas, think I will try one of etched, over silver and over white with fine silver.
Sounds yummy. Hope I can "do it justice". If they aren't too shameful I will post pictures.

I have it......somewhere! I'm not sure and I'll have to dig, but I know the last 13oz I saved didn't grow legs! And probably not actually collecting dust because it's buried.
I have a few ideas, so maybe I'll pull it out of hiding!

HAH, Lisi! I always laugh about the layer of dust and say it is my way of providing a multi-layered protective covering for my valuables!
I gave up hoarding my Amber-Rose last year for B&B thinking that it deserved to be made into beads...love using it! Actually last week made rose murrini out of it!!! Thinking about selling flower murrini, wonder if anyone's interested?
Best,
Lea

Teresa if you get some Amber Rose with your artist points you have to melt it or give it to me - and you have a lovely house now!
Lyn I am so trying that combination if I ever decide to melt my 4 rods!

I made a set with just plain AR and bits of gold foil. The gold compliments the tones in the glass perfectly. It sold quickly :{ - and the customer practically had to pry it from my hands......!LOL! I will have to make another set just for me - The color combination goes with everything! Cheers, Joan

One of my favorite goddesses... Amber Rose and silver, etched. Sorry for the poor photo quality.
