Question Yeah!! My National 8M showed up today!

I finally got my torch today so I can get off of the cutting torch ! But the only problem is...I don't know what my propane / oxy psi settings should be for the S7 tip. The chart that came with it does not show that tip. Anybody here know what the PSI settings should be? I don't want to ruin a brand new torch.

I'm on a National with the S7 tip. I'm not sure what you're using for Oxygen, but I almost always have my Propane set at 3 - 4psi, which would mean 6 - 8psi for the Oxygen. You could always turn it up if you can and need to. I would say that would be a safe starting point and you won't have any problems melting glass.

You know the P-O-O-P rule for turning the gas on and off, and when to light the torch, right?

The pressure is not finite, the final adjustment to frame characteristic is the knobs on torch...

Thanks Dale...I had been using 5 propane and 10 oxy on the cutting torch. I was just worried since they had a chart in the box (that didn't include any of the S# tips) that I could cause some damage if I had either or both settings to high.
