Default Flat Glass Storage

Does anyone have any ideas for flat glass storage? I'm talking about mostly half sheets. I'm getting quite an inventory and leaning them against a wall isn't working anymore. My DH says he'll make something like they have where I get my glass, but I'm not sure about his wood working skills, lol. Ideas?

What he said. Just be careful not to let it stick too far out; accidentally punching a glass corner with your knuckle as you move your hand to grab something SUCKS.

David, this is great, just what I'm looking for! What is it made of? And the paper tray from Office Depot is a great idea. Ginkoglass, that's what he has in mind, but woodwork and DH don't mix. I'd like something maybe prefab, snap together, no skills required...if available.

I use a very similar storage system that my husband and I made out of plywood. We routed the grooves, but you could just use finish nails to secure the dividers if you didn't have a router. Or you could get some 1/2 round trim or something similar (very inexpensive) and use strips of that to make grooves for the dividers.

Slat Board is a type of wood paneling system that has grooves in it. It is meant to be mounted on a display wall (like in a store), and different display brackets, hangers, and hooks just hook into the slots. You've probably seen them in stores without even knowing what it is ...

This material is more expensive than plain plywood. So, if you have the tools and skills, using regular plywood would be less expensive. Otherwise, the fact that the material has pre-cut grooves at even spacing would make it an ideal (although a bit more expensive) material for making a flat-glass storage rack.

I removed tons of slatboard from my office when I bought my house. The previous homeowner had a business in the garage, and I was trying to make it look like an office.

I think I have some scraps to use for a top and bottom for a glass rack. OOH, great idea!

What would I use for the partitions? What thickness/grade/whatever of plywood would be ok? And are those partitions secured with anything except the grooves in the slatwall? Do you just screw in a heavier piece of wood for the 2 end pieces that would support the structure? Am I missing something, or could it really be that simple?

It's been a long day, it's a late night, and I've been known to have a couple of blonde moments tonight. So, I thought I'd ask.

Easy to build even with out any real tools if you have a builder supply that will cut sheet goods

Or you can use slatwall http://inlandempire.craigslist.org/s...breviation=sss

I'm not sure if prefab boards are available for the form you want but if you want something sturdy, you can always use a 1/2" plywood routed and grooved to fit. That will take a bit of work though so your wood working skill will definitely have a play in the outcome of the storage.
