Okay here is what I did, the first one was not so great but the other two turned out not so bad.

Sislonski, sorry to disagree with you but number one is my fav. I really like the scrollwork and the murrini. It may not be what you were looking for, but it's a great bead.

Shari, I love them!

here's some from me. I think I need more silver glass under the encasing. the one farthest right was encased by mistake with clio! I grabbed the wrong rod. lol. I like it.
And the aqua one had echo swirls on the outside as well as inside. ok, I need more practice.

Crap! I made a really nice heart with this technique and planned on photographing it and showing it here but forgot to get a photo of it and quickly sold it at the market today. The lady fell in love with it.

So now I need to make more because she went around showing everyone and they all came to my booth wanting the same one.

I'll be making more this week, so I can show you one here when I'm done. Hopefully they will be as nice as the one I sold.

Patti - they look great to me! Like the Aqua! The amount of silver glass you use is based upon how much silver you want to see from underneath.

Ok, so first a big thank you to Amber for letting us in on her secret!! I love the way that all you clever people have changed glass type and got so many different beautiful effects. These were my first attempt and I was really pleased with the results.

More PPP, I think, but thanks again Amber.

I just came upon this tutorial recently, and it really got my mojo going! I've made a few fire opals, and I am in love!! I couldn't get a very good photo, but hopefully you can still see the color.

Thank you for sharing it, Amber!

I love everyone's work! So many fantastic interpretations.

I had to practice but I did finally get one I really like:

You were so sweet to share the technique Amber, lots of fun to do!

Thanks Patty and Amber! Amber, another thing this tutorial did for me what it finally taught me what 'heat to clear' was. I thought I'd never get that and then it's "OH, that's clear!"

It really has helped me to advance my work with silver glass, I appreciate so much what you shared here, it really helped me.

Thank you!

Yes, I didn't know that either. I had no idea that melting the glass so that the tip is clear would make the color come out! No wonder I was so silver-glass impaired.

That bead is gorgeous, Astrid! I should really work on getting some better photos.

BTW, the 2 streaky beads on the bottom left have Clio and Psyche on the layer just under the encasing. I think it was the Psyche that did the luster thing. Yum.

One is encased in Aether, and the rest in Zephyr. Both clears are soooo nice.
