John Kobuki will be teaching at Playing with Fire!
Rockland, Maine -- Oct 9-10 and Oct. 11-12, 2010 (2 sessions)
$520.00 -- lunches included
We are very pleased to again welcome John to our studio! John has taught 2 sets of classes back-to-back at our studio in 2008 and, again in 2009. The results were astounding!
In this exhilarating marble class students will learn to make flowers utilizing the compression technique with rods of borosilicate glass. Students will learn color and tooling tricks for more interesting petals and leaves, as well as understand layering and the advantage of “compression “vs. “implosion”. There will be a strong emphasis on heat and flame management.
Skill level: intermediate boro/soft glass
This class will be taught in boro, however the techniques are transferable to softglass, and softglass flameworkers are welcome to work softglass in this class. You may bring your own torch if you wish... or use ours.
There are a number of inns and affordable BnBs located within easy walking distance, and many more located within a short drive of the studio. See our website Links for more info about area lodging, and please don't hesitate to call us for more info.
