Moretti Dark Ivory~ weird?
Has anyone else had their Moretti dark ivory turn melon colored coral when it is heavily reduced? This is a new batch I just received. I've never had it happen before so I'm curious if I have somehow gotten some "weird" ivory.

I got it from Bill @ Islandglass. Maybe I should warn them about the orders that are going to hit.
As soon as they came out of the kiln I ran in and bought two more pounds of the stuff just in case.
Let me take some pics. and show you guys how cool it is.
Be back in an hour or so.

Well, my camera batteries are dead so it will be a bit longer than an hour for me to post pics. Definitely by tomorrow afternoon. I promise!

Finally! I'm sorry it took so long but the kids have kept me busy. It's their spring break and they don't want to sit around while mom messes with her beads.
This one is plain dark ivory with silver foil and then the surface decoration.

I made this one last night to see if I could make it happen again. Dark ivory core with silver foil and dark ivory stringer design. That's it. The silver foil went a little close to the edge but if you look at the top hole you can see some of a color change. A bit darker than the first bead but I think that was because there was more silver.
What 'cha think? Pretty cool stuff huh?
BTW~ it doesn't do anything without the silver foil and heavy reduction/ with oxy. flame. It just looks like regular dark ivory.

Oh, yeah. That happens with the dark ivory when you role it in silver and burn it off really well. I've been usiing the Vetro dark ivory. See. This one has more silver on it, but you can see on the arms and the middle of the back.

Hmmm. I've never had it happen before. I was reducing the silver , which I have done lots of times, to get the toasty brown ivory and instead got a melon color. It fine with me but I want my old brown back too. Sometimes I don't want melon.
