Default which enamel coe do you use?

hello, I would like to purchase some enamels, but not sure which to purchase. Is it just like regular glass, for surface coating, can use 104, 96? Is there a difference in the colors as far as how they react with the glass? When I bought enamels many years ago, they didnt give you options. You just picked the colors. I use 104, 96 frits.

The 9000 series of Thompson Enamels is made specifically for use with 104 CoE glass.
