Having tried many colours I ended up returning to cream. White is too stark but the cream or pale grey really show off beads and jewellery. I use fitted black tablecloths with a cream toppers. Black, as much as I love it, is too dark for glass.

I like natural fiber tones... linen, cream, burlap, grass-cloth, taupes and neutral greys... plus those colors hide dirty smudges from multiple hands/fingers. White is too stark and black is too dark though both work well as accent colors

I agree...I used black for a long time because I thought it looked "sophisticated"! Then tried white, but cream or off white is best. I get mine at the thrift store!

Thank you for the advice. I have always used black and it shows dust and lint. However all my displays are also black which also shows dust and lint.

I like to drape the table in black (so stuff stored under doesn't show) Then have runner of sheerish antique gold (w/faint sparkles)

Really complimentary to cool or warm colors and dresses the table up...without competing with the jewelry. I buy fabrics that have a light texture then throw them in container afterwards and never wrinkle! Did shows 8yrs with same stuff.

Good luck on your first show and you will learn a ton at each show by watching your customers and other vendors. (For example, my first show I halled in concrete blocks to elevate my table. Other vendors showed me how they used lightweight PVC pipes) Ha!

I actually just made one not too long ago. I bought a tie-dyed fabric for the skirt, and then found a matching purple color for the cover. I may tone it down a bit by adding a 3rd cover in a soft muted shade to complement the purple. Just sort of artsy colors!

I love all of these great ideas. I've used black and am just not happy with it. You've inspired me!

Thanks for compliment. I had lots of help over the years and customized it as I went. I found "eye level" is prime real estate though I rarely used it. so used the shutters for best view of earrings and that helped sales allot!!!

I don't do jewelry shows anymore but still enjoy looking at the creativity of how artists display and am amazed at their ideas!

Ck our Royal Palms Covers (on google first) I looked it up and got a porn site just using Royal Palms but I don't remember the correct name. Wonderful, heavy 8 ft colths to the floor for 10 bucks in any color you may want. I am really happy with mine. I got Dk green but wish now I had gotten cream.

Thanks for the link! I'm wondering though, how badly do these wrinkle? You've got me excited to buy new ones. Will I need to carry a steamer with me to shows? Hmmmm.....I need to pick a good color.

I have purples... I lay a black table cloth under the table, and then add a sheer-ish light almost silvery purple fabric on top of that. The front that drops off the table has a floral pattern to it. I love it. I think key is that you LOVE IT! I have also done black with big squares of fabric overlapping with the edges hanging over the edges to create a WWW pattern in the front. It is easy to swap out accent colors for holidays and themes as well this way. Its a good and not very expensive way to experiment with color pallets until you figure out what you really like. I think I went through about 6-8 color set-ups when I first began doing shows. I really like what I have now. I just wish I could find more of the fabric I have so I can expand my setup!

Any chance that you might have a photo to show of your table set up? It sounds lovely.

We use the black cover and then place an Ivory "cover" over the black, looks classy but the Ivory shows off the product so much better.

These do not wrinkle too badly.

I fold them and place them in a XXL Plastice Zip Lock bag.

If they do get wrinkled I just throw in dryer with a wet t-shirt for about m10 minutes then nice and smooth again.

There are a few pics of my earlier days of set-ups on my blog on this page, let me see if I have any more on my laptop somewhere....

http://fireglassbeads.blogspot.com/p/gallery-3.html

The purple setups are towards the bottom. You can see odd ball darker table cloth. I usually have that one on my demo table. I demo at every show I can! (these setups are different depending on space, these shows I took pics of because it was an odd setup space)
