Benchtop Powder Box for Enamels

Hi,

I have recently fallen in LOVE with enamels. To be uber safe in the studio, I'm investigating the possibility of a diy powder box. I'm having a terrible time finding anything that I think matches what I see in my head.

Does anyone have a powder box they use for enamels? Does anyone know if such a thing exists from any manufacturer?

I'm presuming that I can build something with an effective down draft fan using any type of box that is sealed (with just an opening for use). This MUST be small as space is at a premium.

Any assistance most gratefully accepted!

i do not know if i put up anything about it here or not, most definitely at yahoo groups glassblowing_topics. there is a photo of it in this thread, 2nd set of photos, the one with the muffin tins full of powder.

there is a hepa filter/fan system located in the base of this steel garbage can. it outflow is directed out through a metal vent so that there is a flow into the can to capture loose powder. i made it tall for my needs but you could make it shorter to be table top,

I had forgotten where I posted this and it took a while to get back to it.

I was under the impression that HEPA filters were not sufficient to trap enamel particles. I am going to have to look into other filter options but this is certainly an excellent jumping off point. Thank you!

HEPA filters will work with enamel and powdered glass
