Amber, You've inspired me to get back behind the torch. I've been in a funky slump (as I call it), and haven't made a single bead in over a week. I'm so happy that I have all the colors needed. I hope people will share pictures of their beads after using this tutorial. .
Happy, happy!

These are beautiful, Amber! My husband will LOVE this design, so I can probably convince him I need to order more glass for it. Thanks for the enabling!
And thanks SO much for sharing!

Steffi, I do a light etch on these but have left them shiny too and they're just as nice either way.

Thanks much for sharing Amber. I tried this today with some Lauscha Olive, a color I have LOVED for years so we'll see when they come out of the kiln. I don't think I got the same look at all plus I can't make a round bead with ivory to save my life ! I need to get some steel blue though. Such a pretty color.

Debbie, can you make a tall disk of Ivory? If so, you can do the same and just let it melt down into the round shape - or turn your torch down!

Trying to follow your directions, but I'm not getting the little droplets of silver on the edges. I'm getting the reaction, but where are my little gorgeous silver shouldbethere beads?

Barbara, got a photo? Sounds like the stripe of silvered Ivory might not be wide enough...

Amber, I have a couple of questions. Do you create a donut bead and then apply the silvered stringer and lausha stringer and then melt down? Or do you create a disk bead, apply the stringers and melt down?
Thanks!

I make a donut/rondelle shape, then apply the silvered Ivory stringer then apply the blue or olive stringer then melt the whole thing down. Disk bead does work if you have an Ivory that's particularly soft in the flame.

Here are some of the beads I made yesterday...
I actually had already made the silver dotted spacers and found them sitting in a dish waiting to be cleaned! Jackpot!

Is that the Lauscha steel blue?

Donna, is that Lauscha Wedgewood? It's a gorgeous blue but more blue than the Steel. Great job!

And thank you! I'm having so much fun! And my hubby is happy that I am back to making beads... he keeps telling me how long I have till my next show.

Donna, do you know it's Lauscha? If it is, it's definitely Wedgewood Blue.
