Intense black frit
What do I do with it? I was given a bunch (several ounces) and I am not sure what it would be good for. Help... pictures???

Encase with it. Much easier than encasing with rod.

Thanks guys! The finger print bead looks cool.
What is the advantage of encasing with intense black?... I was always told to use it sparingly for things like eyes or for webbing.

I sprinkle it thinly on a marver to gets dotty effect on ivory, with lots of heat for spotty webs

I wouldn't encase with intense black... The poster must have misunderstood. Plus, encasing with frit is a sure way to lose your mind, no matter what colour it is!

I have powder, which is even more of a 'what the crap do I do with it?' for me.
Frit will at least web out cool, the powder just sits there, at least for me haha
I'll have to play again with it, it's been awhile.

Mostly I make marbles, and while intense black does "web-out" it makes a great backing for the vortex cone, just don't over heat it. I'd rather encase the back of a vortex cone with frit than rod, you wind up using much less glass.

Black base bead
silver foil (not leaf)
Intense black frit
after it comes out of the kiln etch it, all you will see is the intense silver lining that has formed.
