Yay! I'm doin' this today! Woot!
Thank you! I've been in a slump (mainly because I've been having a rough couple of weeks), no inspiration at all! I even made a freaking cupcake bead this week (for BOC) trying to get in the groove... to no avail. I think this is my ticket out!

Here they are! Tada! I had so much fun playing yesterday!
I have control issues so I didn't do any swirling... and I played with just rolling the whole bead in silver leaf (cause I am also lazy)... The frit beads on the ends are ivory, silver leaf and R733 (purple rose from Reichenbach)

You are too kind. I always hoped some of your beady goodness would rub off on me... I don't know why I never tried this technique before... I do remember seeing the thread. Maybe it wasn't time yet. I'm stoked!

These are so pretty, and I've looked but never tried before. Now I'm ready I think.
Can I ask how many times you wrap the leaf around the stringer?

Eileen, I usually take a third of the sheet and roll the stringer over that longways - you want a few inches of coverage on the stringer. Then use a marver to make sure it sticks, then run through the flame a bit so it adheses even more. Clear as mud, right?

Sounds like it will wrap around 2-3 times at least, thank you & I'll give it a try. I just didn't know if it should overlap, and sounds like it should so I'm going for it!

My first attempt.
Be kind.
What can I do to improve them.
I used Vetrofond Ivory, ss on Vetrofond dark ivory stringer, Vetrofond yellow ocrhe. One of them sort of got away from me..
Advice is gladly accepted. I would like to find some other color choice instead of the yellow ocrhe. It was all that I had at the moment.
Thank you Amber.

They look fine, especially the middle one. The yellow ocher may just not spread enough so I would continue to experiment with the colors you have.

If you're talking about the one of the left that "sort of got away" from you. Well, it looks like it turned into a gravity swirl bead. Angelique

lol yep..
Sort of did, didn't it. lol
I was trying like mad to get the dots to spread and it got away from me.
I just sort of went with it anyway and rounded it back up.. I guess this dragon had to much ale.

first try
I love these beads so I gave this a shot yesterday. Not quite right, but I like them anyway. I will definitely be trying this again!
These are yellow ocher on a base of dark ivory.
