Default Anyone know how to make glass fishing float wraps?

I would like to know how to make the rope wraps on glass fishing floats to do on hollow glass beads. I've never tried macrame, so I could be at a disadvantage there. I saw these, not as beads, in a catalog and thought they would look great for nautical themed jewelry. They are even made up with the rosary wrap at the top. Any wrapping experts out here that could give a hand, whether in cord or wire?

Thanks, Jan! Yeah, big Hee Hee! But, why not try it out. The ones in the catalog aren't tied as symmetrical as in this tutorial and still look great! Those are 6" balls and my hollows tend to come out around 1", so I don't have to scale it down as much from a 14" ball. I'll post you all pictures if I can succeed with anything decent. I may need to buy one of these balls and dissect the rope tying.

I absolutely look forward to your report and (especially) your pix. Excellent project! (When in doubt: dissect!)

HA! I did the fishing net wrap part. Not bad for first try, but I still need to figure out how to do the top and work on getting my knots more symetrical all around the bead. Pictures to come...
