Default Bead Release

What type of bead release do you use for both soft glass and boro? Do you use different based upon what type of glass?

Thanks for your comments.

I have been using the new bead release from the Gathering for both Soft glass and boro...even presses...and have had it work beautifully!

I use Alice's for my soft glass, and then I tried Bucket o' Mud. The Mud was very hard to get the beads off, so now I only use it for boro. It makes nice smooth bead holes, but I was so disappointed about how I had to twist and fight to get them off the mandrels.

I love Alice's! It's sooo easy to get the beads off! They barely have to soak for long! It works in the flame and holds up well with minimal flaking. But it flakes up on me with boro, I don't know if that's from the higher heat or working the stiffer glass or what. That's why I'll use The BOM for boro.

Alice's is cheap and you get a big bag of it, but you have to mix it up yourself. It's grainy, a little bit, but if you blenderize it on high for a while it's nice and smooth.

I only work with soft glass. I have used Foster Fire and Bucket 'o Mud. I love the BOM. I agree though that it can be difficult to get he beads off sometimes, and I am not sure why. But most of the time with a good grip using pliers, I have not trouble getting the bead off. The end result is really nice and is especially noticeable with transparents.
