Smile Raku Rods

I bought some Irish orange Raku rods( They are kind of green looking). What is the correct way to use them. What color should they look like. I guess I expected them to look somewhat like the raku frit I use.Any suggestion or tips would be appreciated.
Thanks
Ann

The group of 9 canes on the left is Raku (Richenbach 108 Iris Orange). They are various shades of tan, but all work the same in the flame. Do yours look like this?

Pull stringer from the Raku rod and decorate beads like this: http://www.lampworketc.com/forums/sh...8&postcount=47

Aren't they grand! Love the stringer control! Very inspirational.
