Default Which Torch?

Setting up a new work space for glass beading. I took a class and we used the minor torch which I liked. Of course its the only one I have ever tried but now I want to purchase either the minor or the mini CC torch. Any feed back help on which is the better or can one do more projects than the other. Thanks..

Are you going to be running it off tanked oxygen or a concentrator (or two)? For tanked or dual concentrators, either will do you fine. For a single concentrator, I prefer the Minor. It does better with the lower oxygen levels than the Mini CC does.

Hi Razzdan,

I learned on a Bobcat and a minor. I bought the minor based $$ and I already knew how to use the torch. I've worked it on now for 6 years. It is a good basic torch and worth every penny I paid for it. I agree with Cosmo, it works well with one oxy con.

If you have a chance to use a mini-CC (which wasn't available when I bought my minor) - I'd advise trying it out. I hear it's hotter than the minor - depends on how you work and if you'd like to work hotter.

If you are looking at setting up with a natural gas line instead of using propane, you should look into the mini cc. I use my mini cc with natural gas and an Integra 10 concentrator. Works great.
