Flower, floral, cane, recipe's, ideas.
My Optic Molds from Weaver came this morning and I can't wait to make some cool canes and have a go at some floral designs.
I'm a bit stumped for ideas of color combinations to use for flower petals or stem/leaves!
anyone prepared to share some recipe's accompanying pictures would be great too!

I look at google pictures. I get inspired by looking at real flowers and the colors. You can also get ideas for stamen designs, veining and all the different color conbinations. I type in pansy, poiney, geranium, etc. It even corrects my spelling and still shows me plenty of pictures. Go for it and explore.

I look through fashion and home decorating magazines. There is a treasure chest of stylish fabric patterns and color combinations that are fantastic. Why can't flowers be turquoise and red with pink? I even take inspiration from the tiles in a kitchen photo. The possibilities are endless.

Bump, Please
I'm going to issue another plea for recipes you're willing to share for floral petal and vine canes. Creativity seems to have escaped me. Also, if you prefer layering colors and are willing to share those combos, it's much appreciated!

Before I try a new color combo or a new stamen on an hour-plus bead, I make a spacer with a couple of small flowers to try it out. I let it cool on the bench so I know right away if I like it or not. I try to make the little beads look nice, and the next time I fire up the kiln, I put the beads in and anneal them with the next day's work. They rarely ever crack, and I use them to fill in on jewelry projects.
