Default Online Color Pallet, Glass give away, and 25% off Precision104 glass

Frantz's online glass palette!!!

Frantz Art Glass is proud to unveil a new feature on The Torch, an online color palette. Now you can shop for glass by browsing color. If you are not able to come to the Frantz Art Glass & Supply and browse our glass, this is the next best thing.

The way it works is:
1. Choose a color and click “Buy Now” which will open in a new window.
2. Click “Add To Cart”
3. Then go down to the bottom of the page and click “Continue” and close the window.
4. Repeat steps 1, 2 ,3 until your cart is full, and then click “Check out”.

The Online Color Pallet is going to be an ongoing project that will be growing to fit your lampworking needs. But we need your help. We need examples of the glass you used. Send pictures of examples of how you used the glass. If you do we may use your picture on our website and give you and your business some extra exposure.

If you want to submit an example here is what I will need.
-A photo of your bead (At least 400 x 400 72 dpi)
-The name of the artist
-Name of business and website (If you have one)
-Name of the glass
-A brief description on how you produced it, what kind of torch did you use and the type of flame.

We are interested in all colors but we are particularly interested in examples of the following glass.
- Double Helix
- Presision104
- Creation is Messy (CIM)
- Lauscha
- And any new colors we may have.

Send the picture and information to
Keith@FrantzArtGlass.com

I love the color palette idea! I hope to participate.

I learned a good lesson, never order at the last of the month... nothing worse than getting shipping confirmation and the new sales flyer within an hour of each other.

I guess I have to sell lots of beads so I can make another order before the end of the month

Mike, this is Fan friggin tastic! Thanks!!

So far I only looked at the pinks & noticed a boo boo. Tongue pink is labeled as silver pink. Just an FYI - you should fix it though.

And a suggestion - keep the coe's separate. There is a Messy 96 listed in the pink section (and I was wondering who in their right mind would do that?). You should have a link to the 96 and 104, etc., rather than list them together like that. That's just asking for someone to order glass they think is compatible and come back at you for it. Of course, you like adventure, so maybe you should leave it alone.

Thanks again. I love this.

Great tool, Mike! This is the best thing I have seen on anyone's website for finding a color. Kudos.

WOW! This is awesome!

2 quick thoughts...

1. I've never ordered from you because I had a hard time navigating your site. BUT this color pallet made it easy to click a color, add it to my basket and shop some more. So next time I need glass I'll be gettin it from you Woo hoo. Lovin' the color pallet!

2. I (IMHO of course) don't think you should change a darn thing. Each one is clearly labeled what COE it is. While browsing your new toy I kept thinking to myself "Wow, that's a cool color...I don't work with 96COE now, but maybe I should buy some to try it out". I saw some colors I would normally not look at since I don't shop out of my usual COE.

Thanks for your responses, on Monday we will change where we can and see about the rest. The color wheel rocks my rods! Now is the time for me to get hot on the BASH!

I spoke with Xinh of Xinh's Seafood and she will do it again this year. So far all I want is a big bowl of rice and her red sauce with muscle, shrimp and scallops.

She tried to get me to have chicken and I told her that she does fish, not chicken! We will have a bbq for chicken, does this work for all of you.

I do love her curry, but............

I just love the new Vetrofond Odd colors. And also I am working on a story about my "Thirty days in a suitcase" and will let you know when chapter one is ready. I had a real adventure and I want to share each destination and each bite of food with you.

Default Big Names for the BASH

I hate to say who will come to our BASH to only find out that they are unable to attend, but I am working on bringing a biggie glass blower from Murano. Still in the planning, more on that later.

Default Sun

I am so jealous. I wait all year for the longer days. I thought the sun being up from 6:30 am until 9:30 pm was the greatest thing. But 4:00 am until 10:00pm how lucky are you!!!!. So how long are your days in the winter?

We do not see the sun in the winter. Ok, I think it gets light by 7:30-8:00am and is dark by 4:15 PM, but without clouds and dreary weather, it looks like sunset all day.

I grew up in Southern California, I thought it was nice when I was young, but after visiting the NW in 1970 while in the US Navy, I realized that there was more than Disneyland and crowded beaches. I was almost an adult before I saw a big tree, and now I live among them and while I have a 30 minute comute each day to work, there are no traffic lights for me, but if my timing is wrong I have to follow school buses. Life is not perfect, but I do enjoy Washington State. Come visit us during our BASH on August 11th.

WOW,heads up for those going to Bead and Button, Frantz Art Glass will be the only ones with the new Vetrofond Odd colors. In about two weeiks our distributors will have them and you can purchase the new Odd Vetrofond from one of about 100 distributors in the U.S. Also Tim has some free samples of Effetre GRASSHOPPER he will be giving away.

I love the color palette Mike!

My only suggestion would be to put it as a 4 column scroll from top to bottom instead of a single scroll from left to right. Easier to see more colors at once, and less scrolling (most people like top to bottom over left to right...)

But, even so I still think its fabulous and am glad you now have it!!!!

Ok, I am seriously bummed now. I just did a big order (20lbs) on 6/1 before I knew about the give away!!! Is there any way I can have a do-over?

*edited to add: OMG. I love glass.

Hey Mike,

I was trying to experiment with the color palette, but neither the shopping cart or wish list will allow me to purchase or save anything less than a pound. It tells me something like "Enter valid quantity." I have tried typing both .50 and 1/2. What do I need to do to get it to work?

Thanks,
Jeannette

Default The shopping cart works on decimals, not fractions.

Jeannette,

The shopping cart works on decimals, not fractions. So the .5 should have worked. But I guess the "Should have" answer isn't what you wanted to hear. I know I hate it when I get that answer. If we can get your account name and email address we can try to do a test on your account and see if there is something unusual happening. You can email that info to me at Keith@frantzartglass.com. Sorry about the inconvenience.

I love the color pallette it is fun to play with.

I would like to be able to move my mouse over the sample and see the name instead of having to click. On dial up it is slow.

Thanks for the suggestion Lara. A few people have suggested doing that and I think it’s a great idea. I'll get started on that as soon as I can.

The color palette is an ongoing project. I’m going to be adding more information to the colors and showing examples of what the glass looks like used. That way you will have a better idea what glass will fit your needs.

Mike, since so many of us are junkies for new or odd lot glass, you may want to have a separate palette for that? Like Pheonix's site shows what's new each month, it's the first place I look when I browse there. I think she also includes things she's been out of, when they're restocked...

Love the idea, and grasshopper looks like a great frog and lizard color.
