I vote for Mr. Smiley too. What he is doing to help out someone else is so commendable. What a fantastic gesture.

I whole heartedly think Sandy (slcuniques) should get it!! She has been so much help to me in so many ways lately! I have a box full of pm's from her loaded with great advice, info and help. First, see was full of wisdom when I came to her with questions about hosting my first exchange. I ran into a few unexpected problems and didn't know how it handle them and since she is the queen of exchanges I contacted her. She even gave me her personal phone number so she could talk to me about all the questions I had. How is that for help! Then she also wrote me practially a book of instruction on wire wrapping and gave me links for info and tons of extra help not to mention her valuable expertise!!
I had planned on making her something even though I felt a little silly (and embarrassed) sending someone so knowledgable a newbie gift, I have been trying to think of a perfect way to thank her for all she has done for me lately and this would be perfect!!!!
So, please consider Sandy!
Thanks!!

or...if you want another name to throw in the hat....
Mintleaf/Alaina....she sent me the most special gift of glass last year! It made me CRY!!
or....Listenup/Kay..she *needs* more frit --she provides all of us with such a GREAT resource with her amazing frit testing pages (and omg, what incredible patience to do all those repetitive beads, testing the frits in the "same conditions" for each frit, making all those sample beads, photoing them & posting them so we can see how they perform & make our buying decisions!!

I have to put in votes for a couple of backstage people. Sylvie Anne is one of the friendliest and most positive people around, and Bairdbeads is another gem.

I nominate SuzyQ (Susan Sheehan).
She's always so generous with glass and tips. She got me hooked on glass, how can I not nomiate her?!
Plus, she's in a new home and new town. I think after the stress of moving, she needs something to take a breather and smile

If I vote for NIKKI will you keep her from hurting me??
(I mean, she sends me care packages, makes sure I get a rod of coral so I don't go into total "new coral withdrawal" every time she gets more corals, she anneals my beadies for me, & well, she just all around ROCKS!! Plus I know she's making loads of beadies for beads of courage AND she runs lots of "charity" auctions on ebay--she's even got one up right now--the missionfish approved kind --she's just an all around sweetie! Oh & her year has kinda sucked--they keep "losing" people where she works ...like, in *bad* ways....sigh....)

Of course, with $25 worth of glass, Chrissij could make 10,000,000 of her tiny beads! And I her beads that she keeps sprinkling throughout the community with abandon!!

Um, can you delete all that other stuff before someone believes you?
Silkys and Lyn, thanks, I appreciate it, but I'm in the glass everywhere category, too - other people can use it more.

(But you did make my day.)

This thread is a great statement about how great this glass community is...
I personally have been helped by Kimberly Affleck more than anyone.
Her tute that she posted for her seahorse twisties is the one thing that helped me not only make stringers, but finally started to feel the glass and understand how it flows and stretches and also contracts into itself. I was amazed that she encouraged people to try to make their own seahorses...how many people would be that generous?
Also, when I met her at the Best Bead Show, she told me to spend my money on glass. She was sooooo right! Buying glass liberated me to play with colors and not be afraid to waste a little bit experimenting and trying new things.
I am completely "self taught", which in my case means that I have never taken a class from anybody. I have learned a ton from this forum, other forums and miscellaneous online sources.
These two acts by Kimberly have furthered my glass experience more than anything else. I have seen many posts where people are looking for help or have questions, and she freely gives what she can to them.
I know there are many people deserving a glass treat and recognition, and I am really glad I am not the one who has to pick from all these great testaments! Good luck Phoenix, this is going to be tough!
