I use 'canned air' with the little straw (you can find it at office supply stores as a keyboard cleaner). Just fit the straw to the hole, and give a little shot of air. The release will shoot out the other side. Works best if the inside is totally dry.

If you have a Water-Pik that's no longer being used .... it works great! Make sure you're cleaning them out in a deep sink otherwise be prepared to get splashed!! Sonje

the trouble with foster fire is it hold so well I have big chunks inside the bead. I happen to have both a snot sucker and a can of air so I will try both

For big chunks, soak the beads in water, then use a skinny needle file or mandrel to poke around in the bead and break up the chunks. Then blow the bead like blowing an egg. Jeri

Well, I'd do it dry, rather than wet. Poke around inside the bead to break up the big chunks, then blow. I use the canned air because it's drier than blowing with your mouth. If it's damp, I just get fine particles of bead release stuck all over the inside of the bead.
I guess you should try some different methods and decide what works best for you.

I break up the release and then hold the bead under the faucet.

Try soaking the beads in vinager first - it will make the release easier to break up. I use a skinny mandrel and gently poke through the bits of release to push them out the bottom.

Wendy
A few years ago I remember Shirley Cook telling me she cleaned her Hollows dry never wet, and used a vacuum on her hollows. (I think it was Shirley)
She could have been pulling my leg (which is possible if you knew Shirley ) but I have tried it and it works. Just use a small attachment. Hold on tight to the bead and suck out the dust. once it is all gone you can now rinse and clean with soapy and water.
