Default cleaning tube

Not that I do a lot of tube work, but after I do blow things the tube has watermarks all along the inside of the tub and now my problem is multiplied by an over dose of water, mud and loam that wiped out my shop in the recent flood. When using tube do the watermarks matter, and how do you clean them out? I have maybe a case I like to try to savage by cutting them down to fit in the dishwasher. No doubt there will be plenty of watermarks in side the tube. What is a good dust free way of swabbing them out or do I bother?

Yes the watermarks can matter, if they have dust or dirt in them. The dishwasher sounds like a good idea, but if you don't want to cut them all down, try this: soak them in a long container, maybe a piece of rain gutter, in soapy water. Then rinse them in clean water. Then clean the insides with a rifle cleaning rod and glass cleaner.

I thought of the rifle rod just worried it leave a pieces of lint? I use a air compressor to try to blast dust out before I go to the torch, but its really hasn't been that effective.

if there is lint in the tube when you start, at about 1200 degrees you won't have to worry about it any more. dirt is a different story.

Take them to the local car wash and use the sprayer to wash them out.
