moving my beading set-up the pool house
I am going to move out of the garage.... buy a minor.... get rid of the HH and bulk propane (im scared silly now). We have a natural gas hook-up in the pool house, so will call someone ?? to set-up my torch studio out there. What do i need to know when i make that call? I noted some good reading here - things i hadnt thought out.
Specifically:
If i get say a Minor and an oxy con - then all i need is the natural gas hook-up? I still need regulators - right? other than what is on the natural gas for the pool (forgive my ignorance but this is all so new)
when i call a gas man - what kinds of things do i need to know? i noted someone talking about BTUs. As i havent bought my torch yet (im hoping to get a used one), Im fairly new - dont want anything to big... any thoughts on what would work best with this kind of set-up?
thanks for any advice.

i run my midrange from an oxy con and ng- I do not need regulators as the NG is regulated to a certain pressure coming into the house. a minor runs on regular house pressures, if you wanted a higher pressure torch you would need the pressures increased coming into that area, for which you would have to call the gas company. hope this helped alittle.

you won't need any regulators for the natural gas or oxygen concentrator above and beyond what they normally install for a gas line. if you can, ask the mechanical contractor to set the natural gas line pressure at 2psi. normal gas pressure is in the 0.25 to 0.5psi range. a minor and many other torches will work with natural gas pressure as low as 0.25psi so it should not be a problem. the amount of BTU/hour is determined by how much oxygen you can produce. a single 5 l/m concentrator would generate less than 10,000 BTU/hour of heat. you may want to go to a larger torch someday so i think that having 20,000 to 30,000 BTU/hour heat capability should work out fine for you.
you are going to love having a tankless studio. and if you get hot, just step out the door and take a dip in the pool!!!! sweet!!!!

another question for Dale/Mike
Meant to say: Dale & Mark. Ii am going to buy hoses tomorrow in preparation of my torch arriving (it doesnt have hoses or cleaning things??). if i understand this right i should go to a welding store and ask for hoses. Do they go by specific names?? i want to have it hook into my natural gas and also my oxycon. I hope this a very stupid question.
Also i printed those papers from the links. Are there any pictures of natural gas/oxygen concentrators set-ups with a minor. i hadnt noticed any? (I could look more though)
